The Oreo Principle When I was a kid growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I was part of a youth musical group. We needed money for instruments, uniforms, and travel; so, we raised it ourselves. This was the 1980s and fundraising looked a little different back then. We’d head to busy intersections with coffee cans and ask drivers for donations. Just picture a bunch of kids standing on medians between lanes of traffic, cars zooming by at 40 or 50 mph. Looking back, it was pretty dangerous....
